East Anglia Federal Cooperative Society - Federal warehouse.

The warehouse is some 140,000 sq feet in size and presented a massive challenge in respect of 'Stock Control'.

The decision was taken on a Cost/Performance basis to install a Wireless Network using Planet Equipment supplied by Mayflex and installed by Puissance.

The overall Network was based upon 16 Access Points, each wired via Category 5E cabling back to central Switches.

This provided excellent coverage, avoiding dead spots, even with the varying stock levels experienced in a warehouse of this size.

This automation of the Stock Control process made a tremendous and immediate impact on the entire operation.

Steve Bentley of EAFCS said "After the initial detailed site survey, we saw the smooth installation and transition to Wireless Stock Control. This provided coverage to previously inaccessible areas of the warehouse, giving us real time and cost savings."

The installation itself was not straightforward as each Access Point was installed at some height, some in excess of 15 Metres and given the constant forklift activity presented a Safety Issue.
